43% of our behavior may be habitual. In “experience sampling” research, people recorded once per hour what they were thinking, feeling, and doing: about 43% of actions were performed almost daily and usually in the same context (Wood et al. 2002; see also Khare & Inman 2006).

Habit learning is usually an unintended consequence of behavior repetition. Although we think we may be in control, it’s really habits that run our lives.

Solution: We must take control of our lives and our businesses by consciously forming intentional habits.
